Textural Acrylics - 2 Sessions- by Tom Hanson
Saturday March 24th,and 31st 10am
In this Studio Workshop we explore textural painting acrylics with modeling paste and create an abstract waterfall or series of cascades.
Two sessions 1.5 to 2 hours in length
In the first 1.5 to 2 hour session we plan our composition, examine examples to become familiar with the techniques, end effects, and we will apply the modeling paste in multiple layers to achieve dimensional depth.
Between the two sessions, we will give the piece time to thoroughly dry and harden, so we can apply numerous applications of paint and water to create washes etc. as to not have the modeling paste get soft or reconstituted while painting.
In Session 2, we apply paint with wet on wet techniques, applying and removing the paint in a series of applications. When the back ground colors have dried, we go wet on dry with a number of different brushes and add the water flow final touches.
The workshop includes all materials and supplies, to create a one of kind piece of art on a 12" x 16" canvas panel.
This workshop is open to high school age art students or older, some experience in painting encouraged but not necessary.
Just show up with a desire to learn something new, you will create a totally original art work to take home.
